It can get hot during the summer, especially in Florida. Sometimes you might feel like the only thing you can do is just stay indoors with the air conditioning cranked all the way up. However, you’re in luck, because that’s not your only option! Here at South Trails, we made a list of some of our favorite ways to help beat the heat in Florida!

Make Homemade Ice Cream and Popsicles

Making homemade ice cream and popsicles is super easy. All you need for the ice cream is an ice cream maker and a good recipe. The hard part about it is waiting to be able to eat the yummy treat! That’s also the hard part about the popsicles--waiting for them to freeze! Just pour your favorite juice into a mold (or popsicle maker), add some popsicle sticks and wait! For the adults, add a splash of vodka or rum for a boozy treat!

Swimming

If you’re near a pool, the ocean, a lake or pond, or even a river or creek, swimming--or even just getting your feet cooled off in the water--will help a lot. Plus, it’s fun! A majority of body heat escapes through your head, hands and feet, so cooling off your feet will help cool you off. If you can’t go swimming anywhere, set up a sprinkler for the kids to run around in.

Do Stay Indoors

Sometimes staying indoors is a good thing, but that doesn’t mean you need to stay in your RV. There are so many things to do in Florida! Go to a mall, or an arcade or an indoor pool.  Museums and zoos/aquariums are also super fun!
